  • Maitaki Teika I think that dialogue hem go go end up Osem.every vanue for nego hem exhausted. Hee te encourage anga but ating hem naf for oketa play rounim iumi .if every thing hem go stret lo national and provicial leve lo first placel me no think bae hem end up osem. How long ago na logging lo Rennel start? and burning lo truck and log machines start same time? NO. things happened, promises broken o manga mata kinaio aaano things osem happen . ku hihiu ki nai. samfala teke the rest malaria lo side and hem no lo rennel seleva that oketa burning happen other provinces to. ting blo me. thanks
  • Spink Mahuta Whenever there is an incomplete dialogue on the table, there is also some incomplete minds under the table... Sad, it reach our shores....
  • James Tipaika it will never stop. this people don't take the law in their hands but the law itself.
  • Manguangai Robert Problem na is, na kunga nei hem garem disputes blo somefala LO but yet Province grantm na timber right for waku harvest. Province, paym new 1 moa for oketa oketa waku ia skinim islan ia.
  • Pugemoana Tinohitu Our social stratification which used to define who we are in the past, is no longer applicable today. So decisions on any development must be consultative and inclusive rather than so hierarchical. we'll see that people who resort to rebellious activities, as shown above, are those whose rights are being undermined because of their status. Tribal leaders, make every one feel belong, then you'll simply avoid such disturbance. observation nomoa.
  • Simon Tepuke Su'iaimoana According to some information gathered, our Provincial executive is the main cause of such incidence. They failed the law by granting determination for the applicants starting from the very first timber right hearing to the last. The RPE has failed ALL.
  • Simon Tepuke Su'iaimoana It was the CLAC that announced it during the two weeks of court for all appeals against timber right hearing in Rennell. According to the clerk of the CLAC that a determination can only be granted if their is no any dispute. He read a
section in the Forestry Acts about such. Ka manga he'e na'a po ma'ogi po si'ai.
  • Stanley T. Tuiakihenua I don't blame those involved in the burning of the logging machines n that's include the other incident at Kanaba. This is the result of doing things in a way that deprives the true LOs of their rights over the use of their resources. This is a good lesson for the RBP, the logging company n LOs n those of u who are just about to go into operation. A good advice to u is do the rhght thing n u will achieve alot of good things that will benefit ur family.

  • Spink Mahuta Leaders must play by the rules and norms of their people. Communism and Democracy Governments around the world have been crashed by this movement which is known as- "PEOPLE'S POWER". Te atua te mouhange nei.... hehe!!
  • Sione Tuhaika Land registration hem good idea. Go to court, eni dispute wea hem settle, aiya, register atu ... hard copy and electronic copy... mekem finis raoa! Its getting ridiculous!

  • Aubrey Saueha I think the best alternative is to stop logging activities; it created a lot of social and environmental problems.
  • Aubrey Saueha The logging activities on Rennell Island is not only terminates the products of hundreds of millions of years of evolution, but also threaten the life system on which our own survival depends. The sustainability of our cultures and economic well-being is dependent on our island biodiversity inheritances; it is our only Living bank account.
I strongly urge the leadership of our province to find a best alternative where we can integrate development and conservation together; one that meeting our needs while ensuring that we leave a healthy and viable RENBEL for our future generations.
  • Kelly Moataine Huaitevai Hem osem naya hee tau pegea sihai kina kama mene mai,nia te ligo?vega te 1.5million
  • Jefter Tuhagenga there is no massive development idea or concept that will archive without dispute or disagreement even if it genuine or sustainable.you will always find criticism and disagreement attached to it.study about community social development, you always realize that destructive ideas and constructive ideas coexist.remember that when we start entering into such development concept, this kind of problems will bound to happen, but I think what important here is not to criticize the activities or any major development operations that responsible authorities or resources owners intended to implement for a good course, but try and educate society to understand the essences of development and how does people should respond and manage it.
  • Stanley T. Tuiakihenua The province has to be blamed for the on going problems in the logging opeations in Rennell. Correct me if i'm wrong but in my view the logging company should not be allowed to carry out its operation if there is a dispute amongst the LOs in the logging area. With regards to the conducting of the timber rights hearing by the province, If it conducted a timber rights hearing n any dispute from the LOs b'cos land ownership, then STOP the hearing, tell them to go n sort out their problem. When everything is ok then continue with it n allow the logging company to go ahead with its operation. Some of those people are my close relatives, they start off by burning logging machines n who knows may be the next time we hear of some DIE. Is that what we want it to happen?? I know some, if not all of u would centainly say NO! l know some of u have ur own reason Y u comment on this issue, but my worries is i don't to hear any of my cousin brothers die b'cos of logging dispute. Kia tekoutou bai atimaongi, hegeu atu o he gosi gosi aki nia he'e tino gaoi ia tekoutou io mugi o tuku outou mouku ke logging. Aue!!

  • Jefter Tuhagenga we should not appreciate the negative impact of logging operations.people and responsible authorityauthorities such as province should create conducive environments where people re corporate, at the sametime, development goals is archive.
  • Poly Tepai the issue in renol is not so much about the province or company . the process is there as guidline for both parties the applicant N objectors. if the applicant has to completed the process according to wat it requires by the forestry act includin the clac court then i see no reason is to why disputors continue to bla bla nd even burn the machine? nara ting most pple dispute olobaot own nothn lo ot resources bt since process allowm fo dispute ppl duim which hem mite unfair tu lo samfala genuine landowners wea trae fo findm coffee mix fo community blo oketa...lol

  • Too Pauq go for palmoil after logging, that will sustain our province and create employment opportunities. it would be good if province start looking around for an investor in this industry.
  • Spink Mahuta TP, Your right... at least, there is sustainability, employment and so fort....
  • Jefter Tuhagenga haha @ poly.te home te kunga huai Hai ngata a.and no wonder why people runaway lo hem and spend all their times and money on different land cus no anything attractive lo hem.since that there were genuine efforts done by some real land owners to cultivate their resources to assist them in a world that compete with money.why object? kake Pau o hee tau coffee mix? lol gua ga'a laimane noko manga taa rely kinai ina gholoba e sigi ke tea ai kua hee tau gau toe mau ite huti toa ena kaga kaga anga.I think we should try and work together to find ways to build our island rather than fighting against each and blaming each other.if there is something that need to put right in order to enhance development, let work on it.noka te ague aki ai tena te hai anga kua pau o hee tau human being sia noho ai ite home..

  • Jefter Tuhagenga te stop na Saena ke noka te bo ka ke mata haka tino gaoi na mea, or te haka tino gaoi na mea while oketa lo home finish hee tau huai difference.cus land owners can still stop them from doing anything lo island ia provided that they do it through the right channel.e.g. what bro Chris tipaika did on patonu land.what really important here is how can the people in rennell take advantage on every opportunities to maximize their God's given resources for their benefits.if logging hem no gud then I challenges the whole entire population of rennell islands to create alternative to salvage the people of the island that suffer for so long.if good ideas and so called educated people doesn't blast the hardness of the island? why not appreciate practical ideas that literally transform some of our struggles.
