    • Frank Roboolitee Well, Mr Geoff Asipara Rahari, thank you for your 1,2 and 3,by which you put it clear,on the other Hands, it will still be confusing for others as well, well in such situation like this, several things will happen, well the possible answers here could be,1.Surely GAR you must be a New Fellow in the Solomon Aelans, 2.You must very New to how the Public Service of Solomon Aelans Operates,3.This post might be having some impact at your place, may be and the list goes on,any way to cut things short, its very clear 1.its a norman thing to Ministry refered to early that is MEHRD-especially TSD,MoFT-InLand Revenue Division, Ministry of Lands, Ministry of Commerce- Immigaration and Permit Division and the list goes on,if you try go to those places to follow up on any issue which connects to you will come the same roads, normally attention will on the china woman(foreigners) for instance for the foreigner to get a work permit here in Solomon Aelans,"oima'ae" just over night, but you try her country or the closest Australia for classic eg,I don't think a small yellow envelop could garantee! 2.Its very common & a bitter experinces to witness some Public Officers came in for their duties at 9:00 -10:00,then out for lunch at 12:00-2:00pm,then return at 3:00pm then take off at 4:15pm or earli, worst will the Fridays and Mondays, what does this means to if you needs to see any Officer concern! 3.The china woman(foreigner/s) achieving her goal for instance obtaining a plot of Lands through cowboy dealing is also over night, therefore it raise more questions than answers, mi indigenious woman hao? A tink Bcos China woman Garem million dollars? These are happenings that "an iliterate woman can still never shut up her mouth", even if her literate husband hit her very hard she will by now sought any options at the Avenue available, that somehow her literate husband is a Cowboy, then surely she will just no option but applying cowgele chu..then the wonderful family at the begining will definitely a broken home, yupela endem go na.
    • Aii Bii Generalization is better in such issues, cs nobody want to involve in another suit. The point I guess, status ya hem try for showm out nma na is, hem nogut for ota ministries where owns by the people for deprivim rights blo ota rightful people for usim ota office services ya.. Yufala ota man waka lo office, ufala ota wakaman ya..mifala public na ownam ota office ufala waka lo hm ya.. You are selected not by right over that office but by merits. So time you serve inside, servim mifala man lo solo first tu..1 cent ting ting blo ol man nma..
    • Laka Moddie Gud frank, so how would you as a solomon islander help da public officers in such situation, to help improve their weakness.. any advice or decision?. Its good to help those weak ones....then we can raise our solomon island public service.
    • Wilson Keviri Local Solomon Islander no garem staka selen for play kura, China man garem staka selen for play kura. A good number of Public Servants but laek kura too taem being consulted. It seems so hard when you are genuinely seeking help from our officers, with no intention to give lelebet. But with a china man or businessman, our officers are so excited and greasy with hungry eyes looking at your pockets for money!!!!!!!!!!!!
    • Frank Roboolitee @ LM, well, there are several ways though, 1.The public Service Commission need to do more training in public relations 2.If the public officer is not doing what he assigned to, he should be sack, and he should be replace with a hard working Man 3.the ...See More

    • Geoff Asipara Rahari Thanks IM. To clarify again (and I have already done so earlier), I am not disputing the points FR had raised. He has valid points. My point is to differentiate the issues FR had raised as some of the points made are over-generalised. Classic example i...See More
    • Frank Roboolitee Well since, we now see some of the things that make the public Officers weak, and put in little effort in their works, as highlighted by some you people, therefore, I think at this stage; we need to organise a public forum, an invites those victims who badly affects by how the Public Office operates, likewise look at How some people Anti Foreigners and the list goes on, a tink by doing this open forum, well clearly see the Effects/Causes, and possible way we can improve.. But cost fo hiring the venue to nara ting? Den dis kan umi bae debate samfala issue wea will affect the public officer, definitely lo Solomon culture, surely the conference room of all Ministries highlighted will neva open to ani forum, we need centre place, also a acessible for powerpoint, den we go ahead with the open forum and make resolutions and forward to the Public Service Commission for further deliberations.then I'm pretty sure some changes may arise, otherwise yumi complain, bata noma nao ya floks.. Den the wrongs dominate the rights!! And I don't weh dat will finis.. Dis wan hem tinktink noma ya floks, if yumi savy triem, den we can adaswise yumi neva lukim any improvement as we may assume..
    • Sione Tuhaika This is absolutely ridiculous. Chinaman is a derogatory name. Our laws are clear. Citizenship qualifies one to be a Solomon Islander, and by law they have the same rights as people who proudly called themselves indigenous. Our country is made up Melane...See More
    • Layla Kere Well said S.T
    • Max Maetoloa I think we shouldn't get this term indigenous and citenzenship confused. Citenzenship is given to you by the law whereas indigenous person is an original person, who has his/her origines rooted in this land, cultural, norms, langauge, family tribes etc. I can be a citizen of Australia but Iam original from the Solomons, I consider myself as a Solomon Islander, although i have the Australian passport. That does not change who I am. I have my roots, I teach that to my kids and oneday I want them to go back to see where I'm originally from for example. I think the argument here is for the indigenous right. Money does not give you the right to over power another person in the name of citizenship/ law. We have seen alot of examples in our world today. Indigenous people need to have their voice heard and laws implimented to protect their indigenous rights.
    • Sione Tuhaika Mi no confuse long tufala word ya. It is plain and simple. I said we all ended up in Solomon Islands under different circumstances and it is hard to define who exactly is an indigenous SIslander. I prefer to refer to all Solomon Islanders as citizens of SI. Indigenous Solomon Islander is a term used to discriminate against others. To me, it doesn't matter whether your ancestors lived on this land for thousand of years, a hundred years, or a few decades. Using the word "indigenous" as a tool to divide SI is wrong... A multi-cultural country should be united under its national law. Sapos yumi go baik long argument of indigenous, you'll find it hard to define who exactly is an indigenous. Guale, Mala, West, Isabel, Makira, Temotu, Renbel, evriwan garem different roots, different history etc. invading, and conquering each others Islands. So who is an indigenous Solomon Islander? Mala? Guale? This is the same question I asked when SIG created the Ministry of "indigenous" ... yumi olsem Arabs, oketa united againstim Israel but taim oketa stap seleva oketa argue who na real Arab, who is the right Muslim ... haha. hem just wrong because we are a country and a country is define by boundaries and national laws... nothing else! but hey that's my view.
    • Frank Roboolitee Thank you MM fo putting it clear, if yumi confuse witim indigenious and Citizenship, lo opinion blo mi; bae no aniting strit nao ya. Mi no savy why ST start well by defining Our groups Melanesians,Polynesians,Micronesians whites and others, den hem raisim question ya moa;" Who amongst da groups is the indigenious Solomon Islander?" "why not say mi kam fo runim Business noma ya? Yupela ya nao indigenious ba!; "Surely dat kan of Ansa will neva said by som wan who want things to go strit",nomata stap lo visa basis bae hem sei hem lo hia som Centuries, so no wonder why IMF kolim yumi lo honiara Settlers/Occupiers cos in dea roots or History" Honiara is their "Land" bata yumi other provinces/internationals etc, occupaem nao lands blo oketa, atink since yumi start fo confusim yumi tumas nao ya witim Indigenious ma Citizenship, den wholeheartedly hem taem blo Legal man fo interpretate kam nao ya!! Fo class example lo Australia indigenious hem Abrogines nao ba or yumi savy sei "Abo" lo New zelands oketa Maoris and lo Honiara oketa Tribe blo Tandai and others..hahahaha. Oketa man lo Guale lelebet fo savy; yumi should savy dat yumi ya oketa man/woman kam find dollar noma ya, yumi should quite nomoa bata 3mas nao ba..hahaha; mi no minim nao kan ya, very sensitive,Ani Legal man/woman?, taem blo yu nao ia Wantok,"oketa Bush/Kastom Lawyers" umi wait..no gud yumi mekem sam ting ia go worst moa..hahahaha, yupela endem go na!! Oh hao? every wan indigenious go noma!! Or livim everibet indigenious blo other Kantry, yumi lo hia as long as garem visa yu ma hao moa yu qualify tu ya..fo yu!! Staka wrong tinktink tumas floks..
    • Sione Tuhaika Frank Roboolitee.... definition blong yu, oketa Micronesia (Kiribati) and us but no indigenous too! How can you expect to unify Solomon Islands when you keep bringing this up? Your question was: "So da Question nao is wat nao difference between Indigenous man and China Man?? Any answer!!!" That is a flat out biased question, one that aims at isolating a portion of Solomon Islands' population (Chinese people some whose grandparents and parents were born and raised in SI). With KM's definition of Indigenous, yumi evriwan no indigenous long wea yumi stap. Stop this Chinese bashing mentality! coming from people who don't want to be called by certain names, that's wild!
    • Aii Bii This takes too long, because everybody talk out of topic.. Issues where thread try for showm out different issue from this one where umi try for stretem ya.. Lets be straight foward..
    • Sione Tuhaika Indigenous vs Chinaman, what was the intention here AB? I see that as an attack on Chinese people. That is an indirect way of saying, we are Solomon Islanders (indigenous) a Chinaman is not a Solomon Islander, well they are Solomon Islanders by Law, born and raised! So hao na replies blong mi hem "out of topic"?
    • Aii Bii I was just saying, we seem to depart from the original mind of the thread.. seems to me..
    • Sione Tuhaika Well, that question has so many implications .... it is more than a question. It is an indirect assault on Chinese people which seems to dominate the mindset on this forum. A Chinaman is derogatory term and I hope you people don't encourage this because its not good for the country!
